What we collect when you use ZendMailer, why, and how long we keep it.
This policy applies to zendmailer.com and the ZendMailer API and dashboard. It describes how we handle data belonging to our customers (the developers and companies who send email through us) and, separately, data belonging to their recipients (the people who receive that email).
When you create a ZendMailer account, we collect your name, work email address, and payment details. We collect the sending domains you verify with us, and the API keys you generate to authenticate your requests.
To deliver a message on your behalf, we process its envelope information (sender, recipient, subject) and body content only long enough to hand it to Amazon SES and confirm delivery. We are a processor of this data, not its owner - your recipients' relationship is with you, not with us.
We receive bounce and complaint notifications from Amazon SES via SNS. We store the recipient address and failure reason for as long as needed to keep that address suppressed, which protects both your sending reputation and the recipient from further unwanted mail.
Amazon Web Services, as our email delivery subprocessor. Our payment processor, for billing. We do not sell customer or recipient data, and we do not share message content with any third party outside of what's needed to deliver it.
You can access, export, or delete your account data at any time from the dashboard, or by emailing us. If you're located somewhere with statutory data rights (GDPR, CCPA, or similar), those rights apply in full and we'll respond within the timeframe the relevant law requires.
